This is a group of 4 villages, Sare, Zugarramurdi, Ainhoa and Urdax, with a rich historical, natural, and cultural heritage distinct to the region.
Although each has its own unique identity, the villages share a history of smuggling and developed a joint tourism project on this theme. They have recently restored the Smugglers’ Trail between the villages, which is now a “blue horse” marked path.
